homarus
bought " Porkies" and "Porkies 2" for £4 from Tescos last wk just to see was it as Funny as I remember first time round? Yup!!! Kim Cattrall probably got her part in Sex and the City on the strength of the Locker room scene !
immortalpuppet
watched doomsday tonight aswell, still dont quite know what to make of it. Kind of a mix of 28 weeks later, mad max and robin hood. Didnt dislike the film, although most of the action scenes were very tongue in cheek and parts of the films sound track made me cringe. Would be good to watch drunk i think. Oh and i was going to watch the mist but one of my mates shouted out the ending! bastard
beejay103
Hancock Overall: Decent First half funny and original, second half it descended into 'romcom' territory a little too much like so many other films do. Do the writers just run out of ideas?
Mutley
watched doomsday tonight aswell, still dont quite know what to make of it. Kind of a mix of 28 weeks later, mad max and robin hood. Didnt dislike the film, although most of the action scenes were very tongue in cheek and parts of the films sound track made me cringe. Went to see that a few weeks ago when my film of choice was full. LOL funny in places although I'm sure it's not meant to be. Appalling acting and script but surprisingly decent effects in places. Well they must have spent the 30 million budget on something. I watched 21 last week. Story of a group of MIT students who use card counting to fleece the casinos in Vegas. As usual Hollywood fucks up a good true story. Read the book instead it's called "Bringing Down the House"
Dames Aflame
The Mist By co-incidence, I actually read the Stephen King short story for this a few weeks ago and didn't even realise they'd made a film of it until I saw the movie posters. I naturally expected it to be utter turd, as most King translations are but I was hugely pleased with it. I had some initial trepdiation about how the film would end as the story really wasn't a good ending and I remember being narked that I'd wasted my time reading 150 pages only to be given that. However, the film very closely follows the plot and scenery, much of the dialogue repeated and most of the characters are exactly how you expect them. The ending though. Wow. It was only an additional three to four minutes of screenplay that weren't in the story but it was very brave, very well done and gets a massive thumbs up from me for bucking the trend of most modern Hollywood films. Bravo. Well worth a watch. Totally seconded! We came across this about 7 months ago on Divx ---- I usually hate these kind of movies but I was pleasantly surprised. Dames Aflame
Watched 'Into the Wild' last night. Wow. Its a long one and might not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you've ever thought about just traveling the world and living off the earth its a very poignant movie and a true story. leeiom
Watched "In Bruges" last night expecting absolutly nothing from it as i am not a massive Colin Farell fan, but he proved me so wrong. An excellent dark comedy, drama & thriller that works on so many levels. If you know nothing about it, you may start out wondering where it is going as it is rather a slow pace, but if you stick with it the film just grows on you, and even the missus agreed it was the best film we have seen in a good year. Fully recommended.

bellemort
finally got round to watching Beowulf the other night (it had sat the dvd rack for god knows how long) Enjoyed the movie the graphic quality was superb at times you seemed to forget that you were watching essentially a cartoon. However for a 12 cert I was quite shocked by some of the sexual references and believe me I am not a prude but would hate (if my son was around that age thankfully he is almost 18 so knows more than me!) to have to do the explaining on what they meant... Ripped&Torn
Watched "Felon" last night - Val Kilmer, Stephen Dorff. Absolutely mesmerising. Couldn't take my eyes off it. Brutal, frightening and desperate. One of the best I've seen.
