x-in-man
Considering the location and the potential Port Erin is a f**king disgrace despite a new roundabout. Where else in the British Isles... Port Erin, Peel, Ramsey, Castletown, Douglas.
GD4ELI
Given the location of Port Erin - you get the evening sun - it is staggering that this building has been empty for so long. Golf Links. Grand Island. Port Soderick. Amazing, disgraceful, shameful.
Albert Tatlock
I heard one of the island's e-gaming companies is renting it to wire up an octopus to make predictions for the next world cup.
SafeAsMilk
You're all so cynical. The new gateway is a wonderful introduction to the secret 20 mph speed limit that prevails on the roads into Port Erin and Port St Mary. Braking when faced with oncoming traffic optional. asitis
WTF is it a gateway to ? Such is the planning failure on the island that three prime locations I can think of instead of being assets to the island are derelict eyesores (Pt Sod,Golf Links,Pt Erin) Government should be bending over backwards to encourage these buildings to be brought back into use not placing obstacles in the way of anyone who wishes to do so. The interference of Government in almost every aspect of our lives has brought this island to its knees !
Albert Tatlock
You have to ask, just what kind of little world do some of these so called planners actually live in.
asitis
The excuse for nothing happening of note in the south has been awaiting the new Southern Plan, we now have a Southern Plan but no money to do anything. I will be leaving shortly to drive on roads akin to a rural third world, interspersed with showcase traffic islands and paying large rates and car tax not to mention a tax for the loo in order to do so. What an incompetent shower of empire builders we employ to keep us in check. Time for an election of some 'can do' people not a continuation of the secretive self serving elite who swan around full of their own importance we have now !! The electorate needs to wake up before it is too late ! Need more coffee rant mode off !!
Donald Trumps
Prize for the first person to park a car on top of the anchor
JessTickle
Well someone once "parked" on top of the old roundabout, so stranger things could happen
WTF
Prize for the first person to park a car on top of the anchor of all the things to stick in the middle of a roundabout for drivers to crash into an ANCHOR has to be one of the most unsafe things to hit out there ( but it is pretty ). a big bean bag would be a better option, or bouncy castle?? x-in-man
'..decided that our energy and focus is now better concentrated on finding another location for our Sea Breezes offices' There you have it. Port Erin nil, someone else 1. Can't have those pesky tourists taking up space in Port Erin. Other options for sites on the Isle of Can't include ..... Pick any run down, eyesore of a plot of your choice. But it'll probably have to be in Douglas.
hagar the horrible
Prize for the first person to park a car on top of the anchor of all the things to stick in the middle of a roundabout for drivers to crash into an ANCHOR has to be one of the most unsafe things to hit out there ( but it is pretty ). a big bean bag would be a better option, or bouncy castle?? I think it would have been better to have had a circle of barbed wire around the perimeter of the roundabout with a watchtower in the centre to commemorate the internment days. Donald Trumps
I don't think the rocket brigades are properly honoured, especially the ones that had to dash down from PSM & Cregneash to the Sound Let's have some rockets on the roundabout
