AcousticallyChallenged
I would, but my seven year old HP laptop overheats during the install... Even with a desk fan pointing at it and the laptop sat on two ice packs! It'll be a wad of dust sat in the heatsink, if you're handy with a screwdriver, you could solve it in under an hour quite happily. What happens is the dust sticks together, and ends up blocking most/all of the airflow.
woolley
Pop up from Windows saying over 100 million have now installed/ I'm still holding off - like 7. Me too. And no doubt once you change over you may find it won't talk to some of your older installed software. Usually the way.

P.K.
Got a new laptop with W10 as my Vista system was creaking. However I think the default W10 mailbox is pants. The Windows Mail on my Vista system does everything I want. Does anyone know of an add-on that performs like the Vista system ? Thanks. Edit: typo
mbx
Why not use a free email client like Thunderbird from the makers of the FireFox browser, Mozilla ??

bazcabs
Thanks but the comments on this site made me think again. http://www.techradar.com/news/software/applications/windows-7-email-5-best-free-clients-903699 Vista came installed with Windows Mail which hopefully you upgraded to Windows Live Mail. This is now branded as part of Windows Essentials. MS don't want you to use it but it works just fine on Windows
P.K.
Thanks. I'll have a gander at WE.
P.K.
Unfortunately Microsoft Gestapo will not let you load Windows Essentials on a W 10 system. In fact there is no W10 WE download available. A little snag - known as a snagette...
bazcabs
I've put it on loads of windows 10 machines. Just download it and run it. It will install fine. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/essentials Go for custom install to remove the extras you don't want.
forestboy
I've just had a new HP desktop installed after old Acer went belly up. Have kept with 7 after advice from my IT man who installed it including recovering everything on Acer hard drive. He says problems with 10 are helping towards his pension as so many clients are having problems!

The best OS I've used in 40 years IT.
mbx
The Windows 10 problems stem from failed upgrades generally. Once you've upgraded everything is good in my eyes. I'm running 3 laptops, my main office PC and my mediacentre PC all on W10 and I'm happy
