Don’t think seven seas, Oceania & Azamara could be classed as Butlins but maybe you wouldn’t know about that class of ship😀

Nope never been on them, not been on a cruise for a while but it was either QE2, Canberra or Arcadia and always A Deck when I did.

It's pretty much complete fantasy stuff.  £10 per head (not £100) in direct income is just about plausible in terms of transportation, train tickets, MNH entries and so on (if they all took the trips, which you can bet they didn't) but that doesn't include the fact that these things would also have costs to government as well, even if you're just looking at marginal costs.

The £75 per head economic benefit is just fantasy stuff however, no doubt based on some bonkers calculation where every £2 fridge magnet is somehow multiplied up until you get the the figure they want to see.  Like practically everything else the DfE does this is all just an excuse for bullshit merchants to prance around feeling important.

It's all utter BS. They drive them round on Government owned buses that lose money to take them to the Government owned loss-making heritage railways and perhaps stop at one of the Government owned heritage sites that lose money hand over fist.

The only people who gain from this is civil servants within DfE who get paid to dream this shit up.
