Flybe nosedives on profits warning

No that's a fair point. There's no need for them to alter the fight times if they're proving profitable as things stand and leisure travellers, which they are in the main, just want to get there and aren't time sensitive.

We do need a proper day return to London. Maybe if Stobart's buy Flybe we might get one to Southend, which might work, just, if it's a 06:50am flight. Although we don't have the volume of business anymore, most people will just wait a few hours and take the Easyjet option and the early one will be half empty.

London City offers a proper day return, don’t they?

Don’t all the BA folk just travel on the Flybe plane just under a different flight number?

or is that just some flights?

Last time I flew to London City (over a year ago so may well have changed) it was on a British Airways branded plane with British Airways crew.

Neither. It’s a BA flight, operated by Logan Air on behalf of BA ( just like Eastern used to do ) and Logan Air have leased in the plane from flybe, so it’s temporarily in flybe livery.

Its nothing to do with flybe, doesn’t have a flybe flight number or code to share with BA.

Flybe don’t operate IoM to LCY.  They operate to/from

  • Jersey to London City
  • Aberdeen to London City
  • Exeter to London City
  • Belfast City to London City
  • Edinburgh to London City
  • Amsterdam to London City

Operated by Eastern Airways, flying in BA colours. The agreement ended with the start of winter schedules. It’s now operated by Logan Air, on behalf of BA, and will be in BA livery and staff uniforms.

Have Loganair leased a plane from Flybe?  I travelled on the route about a month ago and it was a Loganair liveried Saab 2000.  What Flybe planes are they using as well as this?

It’s now a Logan Air Saab 2000 in Logan Air livery...not a FlyBe livery aircraft. (G-LGNS) “City of Manchester”.

There are loads of examples of this kind of thing, and it makes the citywing/euromanx business model of not actually being an airline less weird as everyone is doing it.
