Word gets to me that the utter clusterfuck of our elected government will be opening the nsc in August. However there will be no flumes. After 13 odd months closed, endless costs and still they can’t get this right.

Who is in charge? Why every capital government expenditure is a right royal fuck up.

awaits the failed Postman’s response.

I just give up with everything at the moment. It’s like they’re deliberately being extra-incompetent across the board.

Quite possibly the only thing this current crop of expense claimers excel at

Not true. All the land grants are paid bang on time.

You've got to wonder what goes on in the heads of the management. Shut for more than a year. Mental.

I note that Port Erin commissioners are finally updating Athol Park. Been a while in the planning, and raising the money for it, but it is great that it is finally happening. And then they start the work in the kids park right at the the start of the summer holidays...

But it doesn’t matter. Nothing matters to them. They are untouchable. Nobody will ever get fired for anything. So why not shut for a year at massive inconvenience to everyone and then decide to re-open with no fun slides? Even if people complain what is going to happen? Nothing. The head honcho could literally walk into the pool area drop his pants and drop a massive shit into the pool in front of 30 school kids and still couldn’t get fired. That’s why this stuff happens all the time. They are all totally untouchable when it comes to be accountable for anything.

When they f..k up they get moved to another department and promoted,  blame an accountability are two words that are not in the government dictionary.   The Port Erin affair is absolutely ridiculous, we get a bit of fine weather and school holidays are on so they close the children's playground.    Unfortunately there is no cure for stupidity.

It concerns me that a facility which really isn't very old, requires such major works anyway, let alone the mismanagement which appears to have happened here.

Even when it's open the bloody place is typical of a government run affair, over run with lifeguards in comparison to similar places in the UK, all blowing whistles at the slightest hint of someone farting in the pool. If you take two kids, you need two adults?? Best of all was the place closing for lunch!
