Someone today told me that the government are stepping in to pay away sides travel and accommodation from next season.  Not sure how that will go down if there's truth in it. (Albeit could be a manx rumour which we know are usually rubbish)

For what it's worth give it a few years and they will be challenging in this league . That said how far they can go is questionable . But I think its great to give kids something to aspire too .

Don't think that's accurate.

Was told FCIOM had an obligation to pay travel costs until this season then it's down to the others teams.

As I said I was told the obligation is only for the first two seasons, so ending this season.

I'm not saying it's 100% accurate, but that's what I was told.

I thought it was until they get into the league above, as that is deemed semi pro and all teams expected to pay own travel. Iom will need to start paying players at that level so will need all the gate money to help.

It was super concerning at the Supporters Club meeting the other day to hear the club reveal that they'd lost almost £10k worth of stock through Manx Telecom.

What on earth does that mean?

That sentence is incomprehensible. Would you care to elaborate?

( Ignoring the “super concerning.” Which is bad enough in its own right)

I don't know how else to word it.

Two key facts:

-There was a meeting of the Supporters Club on Monday 24 July at the Pinewood.

-At the meeting, FC IOM chair Gill Christian said that the club had lost almost £10,000 worth of stock (merchandise, etc). Christian said that the stock had been in the possession of Manx Telecom.

So in actual fact, it was Manx Telecom that lost the stock and not FC IOM?

Under the Tort ( Interference With Goods ) Act MT is a bailee and is obliged to return, replace or pay value. Gillian is an advocate. No doubt will remind MT ( although of course if MT are sponsors there may be other factors at play ).

Josem, your original post was as opaque as MTPA accounting info.
