Tynwald members still giving themselves free parking? 100's of Gov vehicles been taken home at night on the grounds that they may be needed on call? Shopping days, unlimited laziness etc etc etc. Just give up.

Chances are; many of the valid contributors on MF are civil servants or have business contracts with Government and hence remain anonymous. It reflects the culture of government that forums and such commentary like this exist.

Any new CM must be from outside COMIN. The protection of top level CS and AG Chambers is a big part of why this Island is in decline.

The 'opposition' is made of characters who, you could argue haven't achieved much in their non political life. Being elected has given status and financial security. It's highly improbable that any of them have the nerve to call a realistic challenge, let alone unify a core of dissenters.

Budget day tomorrow and the Minister is declaring some difficult decisions have to be made. Healthcare and education are in the firing line. Where will MR £1m subvention fit?

Clever people choose to live in better weather and enjoy plenty of bars and restaurants. This place can't even be arsed to organise a plan for a bus station.

Alf said the Government headcount must be reduced. Not happened! Simple measure to cut Government spending would be to terminate all CS/PS jobs that are filled by 'double dippers' who have 'retired' and returned to 'work' in Government. (Avoid any essential medical roles) Lose these extras and just get on with the consequences. Cuts have to be made.
