its a pity he didn't take notice when he was DOI minister ,and presided over a number of disasters , he allegedly met all parties via the sea services committee,  no good shouting about things now , you had your chance and guess what,   it was blown !

Methinks that his recent ramblings will not see him back in at the next GE.

I doubt it. He's rambled prior to the last election. He has a solid following of govt employees, retired-govt employees and all their families...plus a load of pensioners and others, 60% of which have little interest in discussing matters to the depth they are discussed on the likes of MF and are generally "I'm alright Jack".

Same for several other incumbents, collectively driving us onto the rocks.

His deflection by pedantry talents and remarkable ability to refuse to answer questions without anybody having the balls to insist that he does will probably see him in again.

% of employees? Just wondering if majority or minority of staff in favour?

As you well know, its Nautilus members, so bridge, deck and engine room officers.

Other ranks are NUMAST. Not sure how many of them there are. Don’t think they’ve been balloted.

No idea if the Eastern European and Asian catering and customer service staff are unionised.

Just back from another Douglas-Heysham crossing the 8:45 am this morning - left pretty much on time stopped briefly outside Heysham to pick up a trainee? pilot and still managed to make the harbour + turnaround by 12:10 then spent next 20-25min getting the ramp and the link for the footies into place; maybe it was the bridge officers who were the trainees ?

There was significant vibration, certainly felt up on level 8 in Exec lounge for a significant part of the voyage though it was a relatively smooth crossing - maybe the strong SW wind helped to push it along; so given the right conditions it can match the Ben except for the lost time re the ramp + link.

But the P in the IoMSPCo is for Packet ie a boat that runs to a regular timetable which for the last few weeks is certainly not the case for the Manxman Edited by Frances
