There is something wrong about it if it leaves potential voters with the wrong impression.

I'd summarize the main perception projected from Facebook as:

Thomas - about right

Gawne - hopeless, futile, desperate, and at times delusional

Hooper - irritating Little Lord Fauntleroy type fond of the sound of his own voice. Looks about 10 years old.

Callister - bombastic bullshitter of epic proportions always being oppressed by someone. Or having a scrap.

Beecroft - about right

Hampton - delusional idiot also apparently fond of the sound of his own voice

Boot - delusional BeeGees clone who thinks he's better than everyone else.

Not to mention David Pownall who is in a class of his own as a voiceover man and cartoon character.

I'm not saying that these people are not good people but that's the impression they leave 60% of their social media viewers with.

i did listen to miss corlett being grilled by the poor man's jeremy paxman earlier. she sounded a bit medicated to be honest. stu showed a bit of compassion fair play to him

Another candidate who,in my honest opinion,is out of her depth in standing for this election.

Barely up to the standard to be a serving Councillor or Commissioner.

Yep, with haven't got much chance of developing a 21st century economy with the majority of candidates

Deliberative democracy & social media pressure will be required to achieve the government progressive people want

It's worse than that and unlike you I don't think social media is the solution. In fact I think social media is the problem. Every candidate who has tried to ride social media has ended up crashed and burned. I lost it with Callister because he's not a bad bloke but the bullshit he generates on social media and the way it looks like he tries to manipulate content on here and elsewhere just makes him look like an absolute arse. I actually think people should have a lock down on social media during a campaign. Invite messages and communicate one to one but don't pump a load of crap out on social media if you aren't prepared to stand by it. James Hampton being the prime example. I would have thought Amiee Burns set a perfect template of how not to run a campaign - don't appear cocky, don't rip into other candidates, dont pretend you're better than anyone else, dont use sock puppets on MF to attack people you won't attack directly yourself, or to spread misinformation, don't accuse the establishment of bullying you or trying to undermine your campaign, don't set up Facebook Groups that either get out of control or which nobody signs up to, don't have fights with trolls as actually they are there to deliberately ensure that you publicly embarrass yourself, and don't believe that people who can spend a nanosecond giving you a like on social media can be arsed driving to a polling booth and actually casting a vote for you.

Don't agree with you on that one Frank

I think even Emperor Bell recognises that social media is changing politics

& (unfortunately) Facebook is becoming the defacto interface, outside of actually talking to people

That was Inglis

Like a slow motion car crash.

Someone on Facebook is accusing Stu of

"using her answrs to the questionnaire to barrack her somewhat... A number of the candidates have found the paxman style interview very tricky... It seems the more ideas you have, the harder the interview. ".

Stu was remarkably gentle with her. It is hard to imagine how he could have been less confrontational. Asking a candidate about their policies is not unreasonable.

Given that there is plenty about this candidate he could ask about that would reflect badly on her he was very gallant to stick to policies.

Agreed - nothing whatsoever about that line of questioning, and the way SP conducted it, was anything other than a reasonable approach to a candidate for Keys. The woman gives the impression of being only one step up from an imbecile and was cringeingly ill-prepared. Whoever is accusing SP of barracking her is clearly her best mate.

The audio clip is here for posterity

I challenge anyone to listen to it and think Stu Peters did anything other than be sympathetic. I'd be pissing myself laughing so much I wouldn't be able to speak.
