llap
You are speaking rubbish. It's painful. Is it an age thing? There has been no exodus. And a load of your examples have been shown up as bollocks in the context you are trying to make out. Rileys (from the Quay)Manx Telecom (from Ridgeway St) Zurich (from Athol Street) RL360 (from Athol Street) Douglas Corporation (from Douglas) Ocean Ford (from the Quay) Nordea Life (from Athol street) Bibby Group (from Peel Road) The Red Cross (from Derby Road) Haldane Fisher (the Quay) The Post Sorting Office (Circular Road) Royal Skandia (now Old Mutual) also used to be based on Finch Road, Douglas. llap
Wait, what? When did Zurich move from Athol Street? I thought they were still there.

llap
I predict Skandia/OM moving to smaller offices.
llap
They won't move back into Douglas. Too expensive. Maybe they'll move to the Business Park along with everyone else. Then give it five to ten years and PokerStars will no doubt move, and we'll have an empty ugly (or uglier) building up by Port Jack. On the positive side, it'll blend right in with the former Summerland site which will still be unused by then.

llap
Nice spot for a 4* hotel. Or a nursing home. Plenty of old people, not so many tourists.
Tempus Fugit
I have been puzzled why another shop which opened in Spring Vally industrial estate (although not a 're-location') with the Douglas town boundary along the hedge behind their Braddan site, had the Mayor of Douglas at the opening of the store

Max Power
Companies which don't need to be in town will relocate out of town for a multitude of reasons, parking and accessibility, ability to accommodate large staff numbers, larger display areas, room for expansion, ease of access etc etc. It doesn't indicate a problem with the town, it's just for their own convenience and the way that businesses seem to think these days.. Gladys
As I said above, most town centre premises are old, they don't even take data cabling easily, let alone accommodate large numbers of people in easily managed open plan environments. They are just not efficient for modern business needs.
