Did you try multi city options ..can always ' force' a connection that way So instead of just booking IOM - SIN on 10/1/24 for example Go to multi city Then look for IOM LHR on 10/1 /2024 LHR SIN on 10/1/ 2024 Can do same for return The default search only shows flights in a few hours or so

Even if you want to stop over in Heathrow or Manchester for a few days you can do that with a multi city booking on emirates or ba You get the full luggage allowance to and from the Isle of Man I sometimes spend a day or two in the UK before or after overseas trips and do not have to worry about connecting flights etc Tickets for entire trip are booked with BA or Emirates.

Must have cost them a lot then.. From past experience I have noticed that the LHR rotation is the most reliable one (probably as it's codeshare with many people connecting to BA / EK etc .. ) .

I didn't check the arrival times but were they all over three hours late on arrival at the destination ? It's the arrival time that counts not the departure time .. All airlines add some extra time in addition to the actual flying time to ensure that they are on time;-)

Went to pick up a family member from the evening flight from Heathrow.. Took over an hour for bags to arrive after landing!!! Have never seen this before.. Sad state of affairs ..

Or book directly with BA via Heathrow.. for a single person or sometimes even two it's worth time saved , no need of hotel etc A £100 return to Gatwick on Easyjet and a £150 return ( one checked in bag) from there to mainland Europe all seems nice on paper . But add on a large cabin bag and it will go up another 100 minimum.. So thats around £350 Can often get this directly on BA for around £400 or so . No hotels or no longer transit periods. Luggage allowance on BA is far higher than Easyhey etc Can take a large and small bag to the cabin with a very generous limit of 20 odd kg For trips to middle east/ Asia I book directly on emirates for Same reasons ( cabin bag allowance is less than BA ). If the loganair gets cancelled then the airline will reschedule your flights + you get the luggage allowance to and from isle of man

Have you tried to sell it ? Sometimes that may be an easier choice than trying to take it to the tip. People will even take the ones not working for spares/ repair Suggest that you advertise for sale for at least £20 o.n.o and then negotiate down. I've noticed that offering it for free triggers some kind of crazy human psychology . People don't value anything that's free.. Like someone wanting me to deliver a free sofa and getting upset when I said I couldn't!!

One of the cars in the family is a hyundai and it was way cheaper to get a multi year service plan from the hyundai UK website. Motor mall initially said that it wasn't valid in IOM and wanted to sell me their own plan But I contacted hyundai UK and they confirmed that it should be valid here.. . The contract wording actually mentions any dealer in the UK or IOM ..:-)

🙂 They usually send you an email with the inspection report just after the service . If you click on the proceed to vehicle health check tab you should be able to see a report along with a video.

I've been using https://www.airporttaxis-uk.co.uk/ for maybe 15 years . They offer you a fixed price and the registered drivers bid for your trip. I don't have to worry about delays at all. The driver will wait for you .

They are correct. As long as enough notice has been given ( more than 14 days before the flight)all they have to offer is a refund or reroute( which may not work for you ) I've just had my IOM MAN for early Feb canceled and I am trying to look for alternatives..

Manchester for Easyjet 😞 Just got an email that my IOM MAN flight in early Feb 2024 has been cancelled Looks like there will not be any on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in February. They have offered to put me on the LPL flight

I don't mind paying for quality but some places take the piss by serving the same catering frozen stuff that you can buy at Robinsons Spring rolls / samosas from many Chinese/ Indian restaurants taste exactly the same and are definitely the catering frozen ones. Robinson even sell frozen battered/ cooked pork/ chicken etc which goes into many of the dishes .

Everyone seems to be bothered about parking and thats sorted in the case of the new Veliikas in Douglas..Agree that the location isn't great though. You need a designated driver if you plan to drink and then go somewhere else for more . 😞 Will work very well for someone planning to pick up a takeaway on the way home from work in Douglas. While KFC never seems to be as busy as McD they still seem to be doing okay ..i.e similar to many UK branches that I've been to .

I've been waiting for it to open for ages ..I live in Douglas and used to go to Ramsey to eat over there.. But in my opinion though the food is still good, these days its not really worth going there just for that . I still eat there if I'm in Ramsey for something else. Douglas one will be nice .. When I asked the owner some time ago he did say that the menu would be a bit different from the main one .. Maybe he is doing dishes from both Chingans and Vellikas ??

Wouldn't those on over 100k just put the extra in a private pension and avoid the loss of personal allowance ? Afaik you can put in upto 50k per year .

Noticed that the Thai place opposite M&S is closed . Nothing seems to really do well in that shop .. Wasn't there a middle Eastern restaurant there that ended up closing after a year and now this one . I wonder what the issue is as that area is quite busy and has a lot of footfall ..

Yes...I understand what you mean now.. I was around 12 when I started watching friends "live " . I think I missed the first few episodes of season 1 and only managed to watch it many years later..

Yes. I didn't think of that. I was going by the time it started ( 1994) which makes a 12 year old who started watching at start around 41 now .
