Hotels are often owned by the developer or a pension or property fund. They’re operated under a franchise agreement, lease, or marketing and booking agreement.

There are two good places to go in Derbyhaven, 19th hole and Cafe Bar Two-Six.

Ah,

Good point about the 19th hole, Two-Six I didn't know about.

Bet you’re fun at parties. He’s laying off staff, he is closing cafe two six and selling it as a going concern. How about that? Lawyer.

You started it with your fake news...

Yeah, I’m a bundle of fun.

Sorry you don’t understand that “closing” and “selling as a going concern” are contradictory and mutually exclusive. It’s nothing to do with being a lawyer.

Anyway, I’m signed off for another 12 months.

100% in the pompous arsehole look at me comment award section JW - seriously not your finest moment, legally qualified or not, and also having Neil Down kissing your arse doesn't enhance it.

it's amazing how a place can go to rack and ruin in ten years

It is better than what is there because the developer has been prepared to sit on the site until they get their own way, which not only is the hotel but 40 apartments as well.

 - The usual, buy it, let it rot, get your own way on what is built.

It wouldn't be an Isle of Man development proposal without at least one group of beaky NIMBY's objecting to it!

That's because what's usually developed turns out to be shit.

Looks absolutely superb.

It looks OK at best.

I agree! Sadly any development attracts NIMBYs over here!

And everywhere else

Dandara love a “retrospective planning” application

Wouldn't surprise me.

Wasn't there a thing about conflict of interest with ex members of government going on to work for them?

Cafe bar two six is closing so I heard. Brett selling up.

Is he selling the property, the ingoing or the lease? Any idea how much he is asking for whichever? What is the rent if leased?

The ingoing shouldn't be much, £10k by now??? Goodwill? Well, if he's selling up!

Great little place, needs a bit of traveling to but they have sought out a niche.

Teapot, dinner for a tenner??? Do you mean dinner at lunchtime, you pleb??? Surely evening and a drink would be more than a tenner? If not, there's the problem!

Shame another thing's going, maybe it could be turned into a nightclub or leisure barn thing.
