Turn Foxdale into an internment camp - barb wire/towers and all...

It's 'barbed' wire. Barb Wire was the pneumatic Pamela Anderson I think...

This thread feels suitably random.

So...

Anyone know if / when the last time Tynwald was prorogued for political ends?

No one noticed.

I'd never even heard the word 'prorogue' until Boris was elected. Just goes to show, you learn something new every day...

If you read the history of the events leading to the English Civil War 'prorogue' is centre stage.

They don't sit often enough to be prorogued.

In fact Tynwald won't be sitting until 15th October by which time the UK Parliament will have returned from its summer break and subsequently been suspended for 5 weeks and then and only then will Tynwald sit the next day. Which is quite ridiculous when you think about it.

Juan's on it. In one of those "make a local story out of something that's sod all to do with the Isle of Man" ventures:

Is it though? Is there enough going on on the Island to warrant frequent sittings of Tynwald? Devil makes work for idle hands.
