So Hilary Wharf is in Douglas Central so why is he standing in East? Does he want to represent his community or is he just looking for a way in anywhere, more career politicians is what no one needs.

In Douglas, where constituency boundaries, names,  and members per constituency, have changed most over the last 40 years, does it matter.

We've had plenty of MHK’s not living in the constituency they represent, over the years. I think I can name 15 since 1981.

Hilary Wharf is on South Quay, South Quay is in Douglas Central. Think Hilary Wharf is built where the original Ian Sims Auto Electrical and Dive Centre was.

It is there, but Ian Sims Auto Electrical started where Tiger Tim’s was.

Neither of the current Douglas East MHKs live in the constituency (Robertshaw doesn't even live in Douglas).  And Josem only lives across the Harbour.  And it's certainly the constituency you are most likely to get elected in by accident. Joughin only got in in the by-election with 18% of the votes cast.

Because its the place you need the fewest votes.

Especially when it gets up to around nine candidates. It can be a bit of a lottery. Couple of good candidates lost out only by a few votes last time.

Did DE get the best representation last time? Only time will tell.

I don't think living in your constituency is that important especially when they are the size of a postage stamp in terms of the electoral roll for each.

In the UK candidates are regularly parachuted in or are journeymen from constituency to constituency until they are elected somewhere.

I think  Josem deserves a crack at this

Because there is a party system so the person is not so important
