We used to have a lot of Irish bars when the trips came in from Dublin. I remember hearing of them nicking a piano from the Globe and putting it in the bar on the boat.

88 keys but not one lock, no wonder they could nick it.

mong as in Mongoloid as in Down Syndrome, its offensive.

You are twisting stuff, weirdo, just because your lot have lots of nasty words for disabled people, to me and all my mates monged has always referred to drug use.

let's add the oxford english dictionary to that also

monged
/mɒŋd/
adjective
OFFENSIVEBRITISH
adjective: monged; adjective: monged out
  1. heavily under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

If you look down a bit, there will be the etymology.  Let us know what that says.

We both know what it says. It's etymology is mongol as in the offensive term for people with Down's syndrome. It's a corruption first noted in the 1980's. One of it's uses is as he says but it remains a nasty little term.

Yes, I hoped HiVibes would read the whole dictionary entry.

if you want to a certain  pub in Peel with your wife and 2 kids ,  the same meal you had the week previously  would cost to around £27   more ,   they say the hospitality trade is struggling  but increases in prices  like this are ridiculous

perhaps thats why the pub in question   is named after a certain robber , ?

Do you mean the pub that was previously owned and operated by H&B but is now leased out to an outfit that do much better food and service?
