MarcusAurelius
Oceans 13 - Was quite good , definitely worth a rental.Much better than Oceans 12 Borat - The wrestling match between Borat and his producer mate , priceless And Mission don't know if you managed to watch it yet but Downfall is just one of the best movies. Was on E4 or C4 this weekend just gone.My dvd of it has disappeared As for 300 and This Is England what piles of crap they were , and Casino Royale is just the best Bond movie ever. Watched Kill Bill 1&2 and Snakes On A Plane recently and really enjoyed them. Edited October 2, 2007 by MarcusAurelius
K.os Theory
watched Taxi Driver last nite for the first time...yeah liked it, although it did make NYC of the 70's look like it was just chock full of whores, junkies and peep-shows

Saltire
I never seem to see films when they first come out, so you have probably all seen these. Casino Royale, thought was good and in my opinion better than the Pierce Brosnan films. It just seem to be a bit more up to date, and poked a bit of fun at the 007 stereotypes. Like when the barman asked if he wanted his vodka martini shaken or stirred. He replied "Do I look as if I give a shit?" Blood Diamond, was better than I thought it was going to be, quite enjoyed it. Grittier than I thought it would be, thought we were in for an Indiana Jones type adventure! Hot Fuzz, was a bit disappointed, didn't think it matched up to Shaun of the Dead, still watchable though. Spartacus
And Mission don't know if you managed to watch it yet but Downfall is just one of the best movies. Was on E4 or C4 this weekend just gone.My dvd of it has disappeared I got around to watching the dvd a month or so back, only to realise I'd already seen it! Have to agree though, it is a good film. An utterly compelling, brilliantly acted film that depicts just how low the human race can sink. Not Saturday night fare with yer mates by any means but essential viewing nonetheless and a welcome change from "America won the war" blockbusters too.. homarus
That'll teach me ! Don't believe the hype, " This is England" could have been very ,very good! turned out to be crap. Eli Dingle playing a skinhead version of Eli Dingle? and a soundtrack of a record that was actually released 2 years after the period the film was supposedly set(Strawberry Switchblade) . Very Lazy! jagman
The Last King of Scotland. Very, very good. Forrest Whittaker was fantastic in the role of Idi Amin. Definitely deserved his Oscar. Great documentary on the DVD too.

Definitely deserved his Oscar. Great documentary on the DVD too. I was disappointed with this one as well , not as great as it could have been.Perhaps my memory of that time is sketchy but I didn't think it was one of Forest Whittaker's better performances That'll teach me ! This Is England was not all that either IMO.Don't know why but I didn't feel the performances were that believable.Quite disappointing really

oogie boogie
just started a bit of an Arnie binge with a mate and we did The Running Man on Sunday. Great film!
3v0
Sunshine, pretty good film, bit far fetched and the missus didn't like it but I thought it was good, also interesting to learn that *SPOILER WARNING* you can survive in space (for a very short space of time) with no suit on and suffer no long lasting side effects, I was always under the impression that a Total Recall style body exploding would happen the instant you were depressurised.
