This development will hopefully get planning approval as that site has been an eyesore for 30 years+

It's just a jump to the left
And then a step to the right
Put your hands on your hips
You bring your knees in tight

But it's the pelvic thrust
That really drives you insane
Let's do the Time Warp again
Let's do the Time Warp again

"Would you like to help address one of the most important issues for humanity and the planet?"

Things to note

"This post is a limited term appointment for 2 years."

So not that important then.

"you will work within the Agriculture Team, reporting to the Climate Change Partner for Land, Sea and Nature"

Presumably that's the agriculture team within Net Zero, its own mini-DEFA

Absolutely.

Whether it's the impact of social media or not, we seem to be in a time when ideology and opinion is taken as fact, and governments are basing their actions on this - as the Cass report has revealed in another area.

And that's a fact.

This + 1 . We’re in it already . But real damage is yet to hit. And the 700 hundred new CS should never have happened till a proper assessment of departments was carried out. The pension black hole is not going to be filled and funded by the invisible 15 thousand any time soon. But what’s a given is the public are going to carry on picking up the overspend .

I'm not sure the 700 are all Cyril's Servants, they probably aren't but then, as far as I know, IOMG haven't actually said where in the economy these people have been employed and how much, even in round numbers, these people are contributing to the coffers.

John Webster asked this question to Alex & Alfie on the MR Budget Special program and the best they could come up with was "we have filled vacancies in the health sector", but nothing more of substance or detail.

If you're (IOMG) going to spout numbers at least be prepared to back them up.

Good points and you’re probably right as regards CS  or not. Apparently according to Govt we only have around 2300 CS but 9500 plus in the work force . Which ever way you look at it it’s a crazy number and we all know lots sling the lead . Always have done.

The thing is... if they were employed in health services/Manx Care then they would in all probability be replacements for people that have left/retired and so wouldn't necessarily be "new" jobs.

It shouldn't be a difficult job to keep tabs on the number of movements via ITIP & NI accounts added, closed etc.

Another absolute piss take of a job, also being sarcastic, no doubt they’ll be allowed to work from home or will be of on stress after smelling a cow fart. Then they’ll be hoovered into Defa family when there contracts up . Stop f**k**g around Get the meat plant sorted first.

I’ve never seen such disillusionment amongst people with the way the island is heading, unless of course you’re one of the ones on the gov gravy train of non jobs.

Just when you think that this inept Government couldn't be more out of touch, they pull another money wasting stunt out of the bag.

There is no money to do the basics.

This is complete and utter nonsense.

What will it take for a vote of no confidence ? surely some backbenchers must have half a brain and can see that the results of being bankrupt are likely to be felt before we get to net zero or whatever shite we are following !

Just as scotland abandon their net zero plans. We're always so far behind the curve its laughable. Get our own house in order then we can think about things like this - as many have said, our contribution to emmissions doesnt even register, yet we're throwing silly money at it. I realise its a collective responsibility, but around the world governments are waking up to the fact that you cannot just go from a to b without eye watering investment, and at present nobody has the answer. Whats lost on many of the hard core environmentallists is the fact that current solutions in many cases produce more emissions to get to the stage of reducing emmissions that the whole green revolution is laughable.
