It's utter gibberish too. "The Isle of Man Public Service is committed to creating an inclusive culture that celebrates."

The text image above is taken from (I think) LinkedIn. I posted a link to the original document above. The LinkedIn article did not recognise that the original contained a link to another document and just omitted it. But I would still blame the gov. because they were the ones who put it on LinkedIn.

Yup, they wrote that. Mind boggling. Followed by "As a proud member of The Circle Back Initiative, we commit to respond to every applicant that applies for an Isle of Man Public Service role. " . So they are giving themselves a big pat on the back because they write to people to say that they are not going to get an interview.

So is that a thing these days - people write to a company applying for a job and the company does not bother to respond?

[So, anyway I looked it up:

"Candidate experience is how a job seeker perceives a company’s brand throughout the hiring process "

Now you know. Except that you ask "What is a company's brand?".

"A brand is the personality of a company. It is an entire experience that a customer has with a company and its products and services"

Anyone who is applying for this job had better make sure that the c.v. includes phrases like "Upcoming, ongoing, greenfield tailback situations". Such experience is necessary in the fast-moving world of policy implementation.]

And while I am here and in a bad mood:

"A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum."

Guaranteed pay increases every year no matter how incompetent?

There is also no mention of a probationary period - but surely there must be one?

Only in the civil service

Once someone has been in there a few years, they wouldn’t know what to do in the real world.

What does that mean? Do they have frequent parties to celebrate?

"Your candidate experience is important to us."

What a pile of bullshit.

The whole of the Cabinet Office is full of bullshit. The pile gets higher and smellier.

New shop opening in Ramsey selling vapes they are advertising on FB.

I've forgotten how many vapes shops have opened and closed in Ramsey, they seem to last about 3 months.

Yes, it's incredibly common.

+1. Not even the courtesy of a, "Thanks but no thanks" in many, many cases even when responding to advertised positions. An applicant has gone to the trouble of showing interest and placing the application that they were invited to do so.

Ignorant fuckers. Maybe it's the cost of a stamp.

£43,743 to £50,878.

" able to work independently in this fast-paced environment" . I wonder what they would consider as a slow environment.

A competitive salary that increases each 12 months until you reach the salary maximum.

And this is why we are in the state we are in. Not a hint of performance review to earn the salary increase so jsut keep your seat warm fella and you'll be quids in.

Much like the mad rush for departments to spend every last penny of the budget before April 5th so they don't 'lose' out on the next years budget. Not exactly encouraging them to save taxpayers money is it.

It's immoral and plain wrong.

Of course. Then you'll get a board and be regraded.
